Final Project

Description: Each person in the class was instructed to pick a folk story from any culture other than a traditional European folk story. I.E Cinderella, Grimm’s Fairy tales. After picking the story the class was told to do research on the story to create 8 designs.

The story I chose was “How the Little Brother Set Free His Big Brothers.” The story is a Native American Folk Tale that talks of a family who has to hunt bears because the rest of the animals have become scarce in the forrest. The 3 brother’s hunt one bear which would last quite a while, but the father becomes greedy and boastful and declares when he was their age he would kill 2 bears a day. This continues for 5 days and the Bear Chief becomes very angry and sets out a plan to curse the brothers and kill the parents.
